Main findings of ER 2006:13 ;EMIR 2006:02;Non-authorised translation

During the autumn of 2005 the Swedish Government commissioned the Energy Markets Inspectorate to analyse the functioning of the electricity market, paying particular attention to the development of competition and price formation since the opening of the market in 1996. The Energy Markets Inspectorate was also asked to analyse how a possible introduction of additional Elspot areas in Sweden might affect the pre-conditions for competition in the Nordic countries and Sweden. The effects on the Swedish retail market should also be clarified. The result was presented in March 2006. This is a translation of the main findings of that analysis.
